“You can rise up from anything.  You can completely recreate yourself. Nothing is permanent. You’re not stuck. You have choices. You can think new thoughts. You can learn something new. You can create new habits. All that matters is that you decide today and never look back”

PEGGY BROWN, LCSW

Psychotherapy

Therapy provides us a way to look within ourselves.  Therapy should feel safe and supportive so we can move towards growth which will enable us to live our best possible life. Through this process, we are able to gain insight, meaning, and understanding. The answers are already within us. Finding the right person can help facilitate the growth and change you envision for your life. I am committed and look forward to being a part of your journey.

SERVICES I OFFER

Your well-being is my concern. Since 2010, I have provided clients in the greater Philadelphia area a wide range of psychotherapy services. Whether you are looking for  individual therapy, couple therapy, or a family therapy - I intend our work together to strengthen your confidence and propel you in the healing and growth processes. Take a look below at the services I offer, and I invite you to get in touch with me today.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual psychotherapy offers a unique opportunity to explore issues challenges, and concerns that are impacting your life.  As a therapist I work with my clients to develop greater insight and understanding into their personal and relational challenges.  Through deeper understanding and awareness you will be able to find acceptance and perhaps make changes that no longer serve you.

COUPLES THERAPY

Couples therapy can serve as a resource to people in relationships who feel they need assistance in building communication and relational skills.
In couples therapy I will help each partner to express your concerns and to hear what each other is trying to say.  We will identify ways in which your pasts are influencing your relationship patterns.

FAMILY THERAPY

I work with families to help them better understand the issues they are facing. I can help identify communication patterns and support towards healing and resolution. Some of these issues might include communication problems, separation or divorce, stepfamily/stepparent concerns, sibling conflict, substance abuse, financial problems, illness, grief and loss, parent-child relationship concerns and more.

SUPERVISION

I offer LCSW supervision and case consultation for licensed practitioners. Reach out and we can discuss your individual needs.

FEEDBACK I’VE RECEIVED

I am grateful for the positive impact that Peggy has had on my marriage and my life.  I am so happy that fate brought us to Peggy.  Working with her has made me so hopeful for a very prosperous and joyful future!!!

Peggy embodies 'therapy' in every sense of the word.  I feel relieved with a real sense of clarity every time I leave her.  Peggy has an effortless way of examining the topic at hand, big or small, and whittles out the true layer of importance. She taught me how to be just as self aware and I am certain I would not practice that skill without her guidance.  She's absolutely amazing!

After years of working with different therapists I'm so grateful to have finally found Peggy. Peggy is very open minded yet concise in her approach to therapy. She provides a balance between giving me the right advice and allowing me to figure things out on my own. Peggy was always available by phone off hours if I needed to talk during an emergency, and it meant the world to me that she has been there to support me during what has been the most difficult period of my life. With mental illness becoming such a prevalent issue in our society, I'm glad to know there are practitioners like Peggy out there. She is not only an intelligent and compassionate therapist but also easy-going and humorous. Working with her has helped me completely turn around my mindset, which in turn has completely turned around my life. I can't say enough good things about her: 6/5 stars.

ABOUT PEGGY

I have over 15 years experience in the field. My approach to psychotherapy is both compassionate and empathetic. I believe we all have the ability to grow and change if we have the desire, support, and tools. Through the therapeutic relationship and process, people can improve the quality of their lives in all aspects by gaining a better understanding of themselves. My goal is to help my clients gain courage and self awareness to live life fully. I approach my clients with compassion and a desire to explore their needs collaboratively.

I have extensive experience in couples/relationship issues, illness, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, women's issues, postpartum depression,  and helping people manage the stressors related to caring for aging parents. I approach my clients from an integrative perspective utilizing elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University in Philadelphia. I have completed a three year post graduate training at the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania. I have completed postgraduate training in CBT at Bryn Mawr College and hold a certificate in CBT. I am also certified as a Level I Gottman couples therapist.

I am currently accepting new clients both on Zoom and in person. I look forward to hearing from you.
